Description Of Work:
After referring us to Bob Menard of Watch City Cabinets to develop a plan to remodel the kitchen in our 100+- year old home, Dave took out all the old cabinets and linoleum, oversaw the installation of a new hardwood floor, new outlets, new plumbing, a dual-fuel range, installed all the new cabinets, replaced the wainscoting and painted the room.

Dave was very prompt in getting back to us from the first contact. He got us set up with the microwave and refrigerator in the dining room. After we agreed on the plan, he had to finish somewhere else before starting with us. Once he started, work continued straight through until finished. He takes pride in his work and cleaned the work area thoroughly every night. When we had concerns, he addressed them promptly. We wanted to keep our kitchen sink and came home to find it in the dumpster. He told us he would get it cleaned up, he did so, and all was fine. I suspect that someone just got over-enthusiastic in the demolition phase. We got our own range, refrigerator, and dishwasher, but had him get the range hood since we felt clueless about it. The one he got works fine.
He is not fazed by the unexpected. In disassembling the old cabinets, a steam-heating pipe was discovered snaking through them and the wall behind them. Although it took a lot of extra plumbing work to replace and reroute the pipe, insulate everything and test the heating system, this was all handled smoothly and efficiently and added maybe an extra day to the project, if that much. Going through kitchen remodelling is disrupive, but we could see progress daily. He also seemed to enjoy seeing it come together. He told us up front that they didn’t do wallpaper. We figured that the wallpaper that was there when we moved in in 2000 was fine. It still looks fine after the remodeling and painting of the wainscotting. Dave made suggestions, but never pushed us into anything We’re glad we redid the kitchen, and glad we used him. |
