A homeowner in Lynnfield, MA contacted our team at DLM Remodeling to replace a section of picture windows in their living room with a large picture window that’s flanked by double-hung windows on either side. These new windows would not only be easier to see through, without foggy glass, but also offered more functionality, allowing the homeowners a chance to ventilate their living room by having windows that operate around their picture window. Our team met with the homeowners to discuss all of our available window options, and they decided on installing this combination of Harvey picture & double-hung windows for the replacement. After our team had visited the home to discuss the scope of the project and take measurements from the home, we left to put an order in for the windows. We had to wait a couple of weeks for the windows to arrive at the shop, but after they had arrived at the residence, our team got to work on replacing the windows.
Once the windows had arrived at our shop, our team got to work on the replacement process. The first thing we had to do was get the old windows out of their frames. Once we had successfully removed them from the home, we took a look at the window frames to ensure that there was no rot damage that would hurt the integrity of the replacement windows. Once our team had determined that the window frames were in good shape to receive the replacements and were properly sized, we got to work on installing the replacements. After successfully installing them where the previous windows had been, we made sure to caulk & seal around the windows in order to prevent any condensation from building up on the inside of the windows and ensure that they would be as energy-efficient as possible. Once the installation was complete, we examined the job site to ensure there were no loose building materials inside the home or in the beds below the windows outside.
The homeowners were thrilled with the new windows, and our team was happy to see that they were happy with the replacement windows. Their home’s windows will keep their home well-protected for years to come, and they’re sure to boost the home’s curb appeal as well!
